Our first indigogo.com project is the ProTek BlueHart Communication Suite.
The HART communication protocol is an industrial network protocol to allow for communication with smart devices over a 4-20ma loop without taking the device out of service, or breaking the current loop. It allows for reading of data and settings from the unit and adjustment, calibration, verification, and troubleshooting of the smart device. It is a rather simple protocol and we have software working with a usb modem and smart device on a pc currently.
This app will enable field and plant technicians all over the globe to have all of their devices and settings stored in a database on their phone for immediate reference at any time, and also for adjustments, and calibrations without having to boot up windows or drag the big communicator around with them.
The v1.0 will include the most commonly used commands in the protocol, and there may be some single manufacturer specific commands that may never be implemented by our software.
The app will also sync your device database to another phone or tablet and to a desktop Windows/Macintosh application for data entry and reporting. If we raise twice our goal, everyone with a commitment of $50 or more will receive this software also at no additional cost.
The app will be available, to those who pledge, two weeks before it goes live on the Google Play store and the Amazon App store and the Apple App Store for iOS devices. The read only version of the app will be free. The full version Key will be priced at $49.99 and will be available directly from ProTek Services LLC. The desktop app will be an additional charge of $39.99 directly from ProTek Services LLC.
We have a $4500.00 reward that comes with a company wide licensing agreement. It will be the only way to get this agreement. The Company wide license will only be available through this reward. It will not be offered again or at any other time. There will be a site license option available after product release directly from ProTek Services LLC, but this will be for a single site only, not for a company wide type license.
We gave an August delivery date for the Android version and October for the iOS version, but if the software is out of beta before those dates, then deliveries will be made earlier.

BlueHart Communication Suite
The HART communication protocol allows field technicians to commission, verify, audit, and calibrate smart devices of all kinds, including pressure transmitters, flow elements, temperature transmitters, level transmitters, etc. Most smart devices use the HART protocol, although there are some that do not. The protocol piggybacks on the current loop of the transmitter which enables all of this to be accomplished without opening the loop. You just clip on your Hart modem leads right onto the terminal screws and begin looking at the available information and commands that can be taken accomplished through the use of the protocol.
In the past, we have used laptops with a serial or usb modem, or a dedicated communicator to communicate with the device. However, in the future we will use a couple of different technologies to accomplish the same thing. With the power available in today's Android and Apple based phones, we have a full blown computer in our hand. We have all learned to do things on our phones that we would never have dreamed of a few short years ago. We get and send email, we have games and specialty applications that we use everyday. In a few short months, the first smart phone application to use the HART protocol will be a reality. You will be able to handle all of the devices you have and will keep a log and database of everything done to the unit that can be synchronized across multiple devices. The will also be the BlueHart Control desktop management application to make data entry and synchronization easier.
The BlueHart Suite uses a blue-tooth HART modem to be able to communicate with the smart device. The V1.0 of the app will support the most common commands, but will not implement device descriptions or manufacturer specific commands. V2.0 will support device descriptions and may include support for manufacturer specific commands. The device descriptions may require the BlueHart Control management software to be used.
V1.0 should be available from the major app stores including Apple, Google Play, and possibly Amazon. It will be a free app that includes read only access to your device. To use all of the features of the program, you will need to purchase a license from ProTek Services LLC. These will be available beginning three weeks before the actual release to the app stores. To those who are backers through our indiegogo.com project, the app will be emailed to you at least two weeks before the official release schedule.

December 1, 2012 - Protek will release its continuing road map for updates to all of the BlueHart software.
All dates are subject to change, but this road map is our plan for implementing and completing the work. Any changes to the dates should not be substantial and may actually indicate an accelerated time frame. We will do our best to keep the dates in this road map updated, so you will not have any surprises.
Until the beginning of June, we will be using the indiegogo.com project information to send out updates. After June 10, there will be an email signup link here, to receive notifications and updates on the project status.

ProTek Water Pro now available for Android
ProTek Services releases its new ProTek Water Pro app for Android based smart phones. It includes all of the features of the ProTek Water Calc app. It also includes bug fixes on almost every page. There is now flow calculations for open ended pipe and open channel rectangular weirs. We have included changes to allow you use metric units and to adjust the strength of the hth and bleach for the disinfection estimate calculator. We made some adjustments to the ProTek Water Calc app and removed the pump calculator because of some major stability issues. It has been reworked and included in the new ProTek Water Pro app. There are a number of other improvements including many conversion factors, and some common formulas.
The ProTek Water Calc is now free. There will be updates to existing customers of the ProTek Water Calc.
ProTek is looking for additional things we can add to the new Water Pro app.
Work on an iOS version will begin in June, and should include basically all of the features now found in our Android app. We will also be releasing a webapp next week that includes a number of these features. It will be available on any web connected device and include most if not all of the functionality of the Water Pro app.
